Where is Kamana Lakehouse?

Location: 139 Fernhill Rd Queenstown

Kamana Lakehouse is around 3 kilometres from the restaurants, bars and shops of central Queenstown.

The walk to town is downhill and provides beautiful views. Just keep in mind that it's uphill on the way home.

It's around 10 kilometres from Queenstown Airport. They don't have a shuttle service, but are on the local bus route. You can see more details on the Orbus website here.

why choose Kamana Lakehouse

There's a lot to like about Kamana Lakehouse.

The location takes you away from the hustle and bustle of central Queenstown, yet remains close enough for a brisk walk.

The guest only Kamana Soak is a perfect way to unwind at the end of the day. And the onsite restaurant, bar, and extensive decks provide ample opportunities to review your day's exploration.

Any Negatives?

* As of August 2025, Kamana Lakehouse advise that construction work on an adjoining property may impact noise levels and views, so please read reviews and check their website for up to date information.

As mentioned, the walk to town is downhill, but it's quite a steep walk back. Free parking in central Queenstown is very hard to find, so you may need to pay for your parking using the council parking stations, or a commercial car park like Wilson's.

Please reserve your Kamana Lakehouse room well in advance

Queenstowns popularity as a holiday destination of choice knows no bounds, with visitor numbers on a steady increase.

In the busy holiday periods, this means that unless you carefully plan your accommodation needs, you may find that the special place you wanted to stay, is unavailable, even months in advance.

Our advice is to plan your stay well ahead of time (6-12) months, particularly if you plan on staying during the New Zealand school holidays, or during the winter ski season (late June to October) or during summer (December to February).
