Current Time In New Zealand

New Zealand has two time zones. Mainland New Zealand Standard Time (NZST) is 12 hours ahead of Co-ordinated Universal Time (UTC), while the offshore Chatham Islands use Chatham Standard Time (CHAST)and are 12 hours and 45 minutes ahead of Co-ordinated Universal Time (UTC).

During summer months, daylight saving time* is observed, and clocks are moved forward by 1 hour. New Zealand Daylight Time (NZDT) is then 13 hours ahead of UTC, and Chatham Daylight Time (CHADT) is 13 hours and 45 minutes ahead of UTC.

*Daylight Saving Time is currently observed from the last Sunday in September until the first Sunday in April.
